Feedback nobody wants

The Daily Pulse (Tuesday, October 21, 2014): As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17 (NIV)

Wanna be happy?

The Daily Pulse (Monday, October 20, 2014): You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Galatians 5:13-14 (NIV)

The adulteress: her slain are a mighty throng

The Daily Pulse (Sunday, October 19, 2014): Many are the victims she has brought down; her slain are a mighty throng. Proverbs 7:26 (NIV)

Engine light: maintenance required

The Daily Pulse (Saturday, October 18, 2014): Moses said to the Lord, “You have been telling me, ‘Lead these people,’ but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. You have said, ‘I know you by name and you have found favor with me.’ If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people.” The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Exodus 33:12-14 (NIV)

Please pray for the Robert Buchter family

The Daily Pulse (Friday, October 17, 2014): “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. The wild animals honor me,the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen, the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise. Isaiah 43:18-21 (NIV)

Christianity Today - Customizing God

John has titled this video - Christianity Today - Customizing God. In it he comments on an interesting USA Today article about the state-of-Christianity. People are making up their own gods, and thus living in such confusion and consternation that, Today, even the godless disagree on how not to believe!

Do you want to get your brother in trouble?

The Daily Pulse (Thursday, October 16, 2014) We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up. For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written: “The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.” Romans 15:1-3 (NIV)

Unforgettable: Happy 20th anniversary to my bride and best friend!

The Daily Pulse (Wednesday, October 15, 2014): May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth. Proverbs 5:18 (NIV)

We reap what we sow

The Daily Pulse (Tuesday, October 14, 2014): The man did as Joseph told him and took the men to Joseph’s house. Now the men were frightened when they were taken to his house. They thought, “We were brought here because of the silver that was put back into our sacks the first time. He wants to attack us and overpower us and seize us as slaves and take our donkeys.” Genesis 43:17-18 (NIV)

And everyone who calls on Jesus will be saved

The Daily Pulse (xxxday, February, 2014): Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ Acts 2:18-21 (NIV)

But the "last days" seem so long!

The Daily Pulse (Sunday, October 12, 2014): ... “‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams." Acts 2:14-17 (NIV)

Complete joy

The Daily Pulse (Saturday, October 11, 2014): To this John replied, “A person can receive only what is given them from heaven. You yourselves can testify that I said, ‘I am not the Messiah but am sent ahead of him.’ The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete." John 3:27-29 (NIV)

Shattered Pieces

The Lord dwells in and through the shattered pieces of our lives. You're too blessed to be dismayed... Tune in and if you've been blessed, share this Word.

Pleasing not myself but God

The Daily Pulse (Friday, October 10, 2014): By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me. John 5:30 (NIV)

Can You See the Finish Line?

John opens this teaching by talking about the first New York City Marathon he ran (1979), and how once he saw the sign saying THE FINISH LINE, the same legs that had, six miles earlier, scoffed at his command to keep running then responded readily, even to the point of what could charitably be called a sprint to the finish. For each Christian, THE FINISH LINE is the Appearing of Jesus Christ, when he catches us up to meet him in the air. The clearer your vision of that glorious day, the more motivated you will be to keep running the race until then. This teaching is a verse-by-verse exposition of 1 Corinthians 15, the classic chapter about Jesus Christ raising the dead. By the way, he is going to raise EVERYONE who ever lived, but at different times.
