Boy’s Routine With Brother with Autism Inspires Entire School

Seeing a need and acting with kindness and love without being asked or told can have massive ramifications. Not only will it benefit the person on the receiving end of the act, but it can benefit others. The bond between a pair of young siblings has done just that.

Thomas and Nathan are two children – 5 and 7 years old. Thomas is the oldest and Nathan is the younger. Nathan has Autism which affects his ability to communicate, according to the boys’ mother, Jill Brose.

One day, Thomas saw a need, a way to help his brother’s day run a little smoother and he acted without being prompted. It’s now become their morning routine.

The school’s leadership has taken notice of Thomas’ effort.

“Nobody really told Thomas what to do. He just did it,” said Tricia Fusco, Mcannulty Elementary School principal. “And he helped Nathan take his coat off and he hung it up in his locker and put his book bag away. Took his lunchbox and took him right into his classroom and that was really the start of everything that came to be today.”

Nathan’s teacher mentioned that she saw an immediate, positive change in him following the kindness of his big brother, Thomas.

“He really knows what Nathan needs,” Amy Dempsey said. “So, incorporating him walking him to class really helped with Nathan’s anxiety because he knew how to calm Nathan down.”

Other people who work in the school have told the boys’ parents how much they appreciate Thomas’ efforts, calling it the sweetest thing.

“The smallest act of kindness can really turn someone’s day around,” Jill said.

Not only have those in the school taken notice of the children’s sweet bond and routine, but their own father wants to be a better man from what he’s seen from them.

“To see them have their own type of relationship, it inspires me to just, you know, wanna be the best that I can and the best parent that I can for them,” Tom Brose said.

Dog’s Excited Reunion with His Military Human

A lot of people underestimate the intelligence of animals. Some of them seemingly can understand and comprehend certain situations and circumstances. Videos are posted everyday to social media displaying the smarts and ability of animals to feel emotion. One video shows the touching reunion of a dog with its owner, who was away for several months.

The video begins with a large black dog racing up a driveway to an opened garage. Inside the garage, a handful of people stand, with one man in military garb in the center of the garage, sitting on the ground.

The animal is obviously excited and is a ball of pure, unbridled energy!

As the video’s title makes clear, the animal is reuniting with its owner, a member of the military, after several months away.

The dog just cannot contain itself! The animal runs right over to the man on the ground and begins barking excitedly.

The man tells the animal, “it’s me! It’s me!” The dog literally jumps into the man’s arms as the two friends share a loving embrace.

The animal, unable to contain its joy at the return of its owner, jumps and hops around the room. The dog essentially jumps around the entire room to everyone almost as if to ask, “Is this real? Is this really happening?”

At one point, near the end of the clip, the animal momentarily runs off the screen.

But don’t worry! The large dog returns, running into its owner’s arms, and literally knocks him backward and onto the ground.

What a sweet video that perfectly displays the special connection between humans and their pets. Dogs really are man's best friend!

Genesis 1:21 “And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.”

Singer and His 8-Year-old Son Sing ‘Old Man’

Fathers, whether good or bad, have a major impact on their children. Usually, the first man children encounter is their father. So, it would only make sense children would emulate their father and his behavior and lifestyle. One singer and his son recently sang a song about the similarities between a father and son.

Australian singer Chris Cavill and his 8-year-old son Jesse Cavill performed Neil Young’s classic song, “Old Man.” To put it simply, father and son sound great together!

Both dad and son play the memorable folk song, strumming together on guitars. Also, Chris and Jesse sing the lyrics about a son telling his father about their perceived similarities.

“Old man, take a look at my life, I’m a lot like you
I need someone to love me the whole day through
Ah, one look in my eyes and you can tell that that’s true”

The father and son duo have racked up hundreds of positive comments on the video, people telling them how much they enjoyed their performance.

“What a wonderful, wonderful thing it is when parents and children can meet in the world of music! Dad will inevitably pass away (I’m a dad too) but the bond and intimate memories will never fade away,” one person wrote on YouTube.

“The world is falling in love with you both right now, One of the most beautiful, well executed straight from soul covers I have ever heard. Just amazing,” someone else commented.

Much like the lyrics, the video of father and son depicts similarities between the two. Both are obviously into music and have a ton of musical talent.

Additionally, Chris and Jesse have similar-sounding singing voices. Also, as seen in the video, father and son are even dressed alike. Both choose to go without shoes and socks in the video, performing barefoot instead.

Fathers are important people in the world. They are a massive influence on their children. Children are constantly watching, always looking at how their parents act and react to situations.

Another song Neil Young was involved in had a similar message about the importance of parents to their children - Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young’s “Teach Your Children Well.”

Proverbs 23:24 “The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begets a wise child shall have joy of him.”

Couple Miraculously Overcomes Horrific Rock-Climbing Accident

Unfortunately, most of us will not escape life unscathed. We are all going to experience trying circumstances. Those times will often leave us puzzled and demanding answers. One young couple experienced such a situation that challenged them both in ways they could have never imagined.

On June 30, 2018, Kaylene and Josh Baker went rock climbing in Big Timber, Montana, according to the clip posted on YouTube. Kaylene and Josh both enjoy rock climbing, but on that day, they decided to try someplace new. Little did they know that day would forever change their lives.

During one climb around lunchtime that day, Josh was climbing as Kaylene remained on the ground. She was helping with the ropes Josh was using to scale the wall.

At one point, about 40 feet up, Josh got stuck. In order to free himself, Josh had to place his shoulder into the wall, put his hand up and then pull. That’s when things went terribly wrong.

As Josh freed himself, rock fell and landed on Kaylene.

Through tears, Josh recalled the horrific scene.

“And I looked down, I saw Kaylene faced down and she was missing her leg. And I thought she was dead,” he told NBC’s Today Show.

First responders quickly raced to the grisly scene. They loaded her on a stretcher and took her to the ambulance. Kaylene suffered several massive and gruesome injuries.

“Her sternum was broken,” Crystal Christison, Kaylene’s mother said. “Broken ribs, broken scapula. I believe her foot was broken. She had a collapsed lung. Her back was broken. Her nose was broken, a dissected artery in her neck.”

Flash forward to more than a year after the accident, to August 2019, Kaylene has been fitted with a prosthetic left. Kaylene is also without her left forearm. She admits they have had their fair share of struggles as a couple.

The clip shows Kaylene enduring physical therapy and reuniting with the first responders who helped save her life. The couple even returns to the site of the devastating accident. Kaylene and Josh were overcome with emotion.

However, Kaylene refuses to let her accident keep her from enjoying rock climbing. The clip shows Kaylene climbing an indoor rock wall!

The clip moves forward once again to December 2022. Kaylene and Josh are now proud parents to a baby boy! Their beautiful child was born in May 2022, Kaylene mentions in the clip.

Although Kaylene admits she is limited in what she can do as a mother, she and Josh make trade-offs in parenting their baby.

Through the adversity and all their struggles, the couple has and continues to persevere. Kaylene gives glory to God for the work he has done and is continuing to do in her life.

“The big part of my life of how I can keep moving forward is my faith,” Kaylene said. “I feel like God helps center me and help me to remember who I want to be and how I want to live.”

Ukrainian Girl Who Sang In Bomb Shelter Surprised by Real-Life Elsa

Disney has released dozens of classic films. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid are just a few. However, in the last decade, no Disney film has reached the popularity of Frozen and one of the film’s songs, in particular.

Soon after Russian forces began their unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, a video of a little Ukrainian girl went viral. The video shows the child in a bomb shelter in her native Ukraine with dozens of others as she sings.

The child, in Ukrainian, sings “Let It Go,” the popular earworm song from Disney’s Frozen film.

Such a beautiful moment! Crying babies were even quiet during the performance.

Well, that little girl, who warmed the hearts of many around the world, was invited to sing that song in front of a live, massive studio audience.

The audience loves her performance, applauding wildly and giving her a standing ovation.

However, little did the girl – 7-year-old Amelia Anisovych - know that she would meet the real Elsa! At the conclusion of her performance, the two women who played the Disney princesses – Anna and Elsa – in the West End play version of the film, came out on stage in costume, as the video shows

The two women continue singing the song. One sings in English, while the other sings in Ukrainian as they approach the little girl. Both give her a massive hug.

To say the little girl was overjoyed would be an understatement! She doesn’t even try to hide that she is thrilled to be meeting Anna and Elsa. Amelia’s eyes widen in surprise, and she has a smile that reaches from ear to ear.

Young Amelia’s genuine reaction is enough to cause even the most hard-hearted person to shed a tear or two!

Matthew 19:14 “But Jesus said, Let the little ones come to me and do not keep them away: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”

‘Calm Down’ Cover on Violin by Karolina Protsenko

Everyone likes music, right? Regardless of age, sex, occupation or education level, all enjoy a sweet and pleasant sound that speaks to them. Now, the type of music people like and to what degree will certainly vary. While all may not, most people are sure to enjoy a dazzling performance from a young violinist.

In one YouTube clip, Karolina Protsenko shows off her immense skills on the violin in what appears to be outside of a busy mall. The talented musician treats mallgoers to the sweet sounds of her violin as she plays Rema’s “Calm Down.”

It’s obvious right from the get-go that not only does this violinist have loads of musical ability, but she thoroughly loves playing the instrument. She spends a good portion of the nearly 4-minute clip dancing around, twisting and turning around to the sound of the beautiful music.

Several people in the clip completely stop, seemingly enchanted by the expert-level violin performance taking place right in front of them.

At the end of her performance, the handful of people who have stopped to watch her applaud their approval.

If the musician wasn’t already impressive enough, Karolina’s YouTube channel states that she is not even old enough to drive a car. She is only 14 years old!

She has been greatly blessed with musical talent! Others commenting on the YoutTube clip of her performance seem to wholeheartedly agree.

“Karolina never ceases to give me goosebumps of pure heaven when she plays her violin. We’re watching her grow into a beautiful, talented and kind young woman. Karolina is a Blessing for us all. We are fortunate to hear her music. Thank you, Karolina,” one person wrote.

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Nervous New Mom Gets Break from Sympathetic Judge

Catching a break or having someone show a little mercy can go a long way for someone in a difficult position. Whether it be because of an unexpected expense, job loss or some other unforeseen event, there are times when we are all in need of some mercy. One judge recently displayed compassion for a woman in a tight spot.

A video on TikTok shows a nervous young woman in court facing Judge Frank Caprio. The woman was standing in the judge’s courtroom to answer for several parking tickets.

As the judge explains in the clip, the woman has accumulated four overnight parking tickets, totaling $200 in fines. The woman tells the judge that she received the tickets from the same location.

We learn the woman is in the process of changing places of employment. She will soon be starting at a bank.

Initially, the judge orders her to pay just $20 for the tickets. But a little later in the clip, we learn another big piece of information about the woman.

She is the mother of a 10-month-old baby girl, whom she is caring for by herself. The judge changes his ruling.

“Oh, we can’t let you pay $20 because then, I don’t know, maybe when you go home tonight, you need some food for the baby and if you pay $20 here, maybe you won’t be able to afford the food, “the judge said. “So, I’m not going to do that.”

However, things take an unexpected turn and instead of paying the court, the judge gives her money. The judge mentions that people across the country send in money to help those in need.

“So, I am going to, from the generosity of people throughout the country who have sent in cash, I am going to give you $50,” the judge announces.

The judge asks two things of the young single mother: she takes care of her infant daughter and helps someone in need down the road.

5 Sisters Sing With Mom on Piano – ‘A Thousand Miles’ by Cimorelli

When it comes to songs that get the cover treatment, it is hard to top “Drops of Jupiter.” For a while, it seemed everyone was putting out a version of the Train hit. However, coming in a close second for the number of covers it has generated has to be Vanessa Carlton's tune, “A Thousand Miles.” Cimorelli takes their turn singing the Carlton song.

Cimorelli, who are five sisters – Christina, Katherine, Lisa, Amy and Lauren – are joined by their mother in the video. The five sisters sing and harmonize together as their mom sits and plays the piano.

While at the piano tickling the ivories, her five daughters sit and stand behind her as they sing the 2002 song. All the girls shine as they beautifully blend their voices together for the verses and the tune’s memorable chorus.

“Do you think time would pass me by?
‘Cause you know I’d walk a thousand miles
If I could just see you tonight”

However, about 2 minutes into the video, at approximately the 1:45-minute mark in the video, they change things up a bit. Mom joins her daughters and begins singing along to the hit about someone longing to see another person.

In addition to playing the piano and like her daughters, mom can sing!

As Cimorelli mentions in the caption to the video, they got their start by singing in church. The girls sang in the church choir in addition to in barbershops and entertained the elderly at nursing homes.

The church and faith remain incredibly important to the talented young women.

“Our Christian faith guides our decisions, and we will always create content that is family friendly, while not being afraid to touch on topics that we believe are important, such as mental health and personal growth,” the description of the video reads

Psalms 89:1 “I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever: with my mouth will I make known your faithfulness to all generations.”

101-Year-Old Still Practices Ballet

Everyone wants to live a long and healthy life, able to maintain some type of independence in their advanced age. No one wants to be in a position where they must rely on someone else for assistance to complete simple and mundane daily tasks. Yes, longevity and good health are the goals in life. One woman has achieved both long-term objectives.

A woman in England is 101 years old and still continues to practice ballet every day, according to The Independent. That ambitious woman is Dinkie Flowers and she was a former professional dancer.

Not only does Dinkie continue to practice ballet, but she hosts daily dancing and other lessons at her stage school that encourages people to get and remain active, the outlet reports

Dancing has been a lifelong activity and love for Dinkie. She started dancing way back in 1924 when she was only 3 years old.

If you’re wondering if Dinkie has any intention of giving up ballet, it’s an emphatic no.

The former professional dancer told The Independent there is only one way that she’ll give up the art and activity of ballet. Dinkie has plans to continue practicing ballet “until they take me away in a box.”

What an amazing woman and a terrific outlook on activity and life!

Now, does Dinkie have any secrets to achieving a long and healthy life? Yes, Dinkie encourages people of all ages to get up and move!

“You could be 30 or 100, but as long as you have movement you are fit and well,” Dinkie said.

Dinkie has certainly been blessed to continue to be able to do what she loves into her advanced age!

Teacher Proposes to Teacher in Front of Excited Students

As much as we’d hate to admit it, gossip and rumors usually spread like wildfire, as the old saying goes. People, for whatever reason, seem to enjoy discussing matters and situations in the lives of others. One video shows a teacher addressing a rumor in front of a classroom full of students.

The YouTube video begins with a man standing at the front of the classroom. He is all business, looking to confront a rumor and gossip involving himself and a colleague. As the man does this, a woman stands directly to his right and does so throughout the video.

“Raise your hand if you have heard a rumor about Miss Barker and I,” the male teacher asks the class

The excited students finally get the answer to the much-talked-about rumor about the two teachers.

“There is a rumor going around that Miss Barker and I are dating,” the man says. “So, the answer is yes, we are dating.”

The students erupt in excitement at the confirmation of the romantic relationship between the two educators. But the male teacher takes things a step further!

“We are a little bit more than dating because I am in completely in love with her,” he says.

After more excited yelling from the students and someone in the room telling the kids that “this is his moment, let him have it,” the male teacher continues.

“I was wondering if Miss Barker would like to become Mrs. Seifert,” he asks as he gets down on one knee and proposes to the woman.

We do not hear her answer through all the hooting and hollering from the students. However, it is a safe bet she said yes. The two embrace longingly as the video comes to an end.

Woman Clearing Snow Has Near-Miss of Getting Covered in It

Each season brings its own fun as well as challenges. Winter, while often a beautiful time of year, can be dangerous. Mainly due to the snow and ice, people can sustain serious injuries. One person narrowly missed being hurt by some of that wintry weather.

A video on social media shows that a woman just missed possibly incurring injury while cleaning snow off a house.

The begins innocently enough with the woman inside a house, opening the front door and then stepping outside. In her hand, the woman has a tool.

It appears to be a shovel of some sort.

Anyway, wherever this woman lives has just received a good amount of snowfall. We can see several inches of snow has piled up on the deck in front of the door. But she is not concerned at all with the snow on the deck.

Instead, her focus and efforts are all directed toward the show that oddly hangs off the house. The woman, hoping to rid the roof of the overhanging snow, begins swiping and hitting at the snow with the shovel-like tool.

She hits at the snow on the roof of the house and does so the first time to moderate success. We see some snow fall to the ground. Not satisfied, she does it again. The result is like the first time. Not a whole lot of snow falls.

The third time's the charm, right? Well, she does it again and even less snow falls than the two previous times. Then she does it a couple more times and she’s making progress, but not much.

However, things quickly change. She takes one strike too many at the snow and it all falls to the ground in one big clump!

The woman narrowly misses becoming covered in snow! Quick reflexes and swift reaction time are definitely blessings!

Dolly Parton and Pop Stars Sing ‘Gonna Be You’

Having deep and committed friendships with people who can be counted on during turbulent times is priceless. One new film, 80 for Brady, features relationships that have endured the test of time and inevitable troubles. Likewise, a new song from the film featuring Dolly Parton and several other recognizable faces, is all about these important bonds.

On “Gonna Be You” Dolly is joined by Belinda Carlisle, Cyndi Lauper and Gloria Estefan. In the video for the catchy tune, the ladies take turns singing to the camera as they each wear the iconic number 12 Tom Brady New England Patriots jersey.

Throughout the video, there are clips of scenes from the upcoming film.

The chorus paints a picture of a deep, committed friendship - the type of friend we all want in life.

“It’s gonna be you
Who comes to my rescue anytime that I’m drownin’
Into the cold deep water, yeah, you’re gonna dive in”

YouTube users commenting on the video absolutely loved the new song from the legendary singers!

“Oh my gosh I could cry. These ladies are icons and I’m so glad they’re still here. This is history and young actresses and singers need to take note. This is how it’s done. They are beautiful, beyond talented, sexy and clothed,” one person wrote.

“This is so amazing! So positive and uplifting. These legends have contributed to the soundtrack of our lives. Come on, what Gloria and Dolly have done for country and latin music is incredible. Bravo Diane Warren!!!,” another person posted.

Much like the song, the film features a cast of legendary actresses. Sally Field, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno and Lily Tomlin lead the cast. 80 for Brady is rated PG-13 and opens in theaters on February 3.

Young Boy Bursts Into Tears Seeing Mom in Wedding Dress

Weddings are happy but often emotional occasions. There are times during the festivities when the bride, the groom or the parents of the happy couple shed a tear or two or three. But in one instance, it was the child of the bride who was overcome with emotion before the ceremony.

A video shows the moment 11-year-old Mekhi Sheffield first saw his mother on her big day in her wedding dress. Young Mekhi had a wave of emotions hit him when he saw her. He broke down into tears.

The video begins with Mekhi’s mom, standing in her wedding dress, asking if he’s ready to walk her down the aisle. Seconds later, Mekhi has tears streaming down his face.

“I’m so happy for you,” Mekhi tells his mother.

The YouTube clip then goes into some background and what led up to that sweet show of emotion from young Mekhi.

“Me and my mom have been through quite a bit together,” Mekhi said. “All of those moments just replayed in my mind. And I was like, ‘Wow, we’ve really been through a lot and we’re finally here.”’

Mekhi’s mother then goes into the struggles the two of them faced together and some of the tough decisions they had to make.

“And at times, you know, it was either he ate, or I ate,” Mekhi’s mother said. “And he ate every time.”

After an abusive relationship, the two discussed the man Mekhi’s mother would eventually marry. Both talked about the process of introducing him to her son, Mekhi, and the exact time she knew he was the one.

The touching clip ends with Mekhi sharing some heartfelt advice for those with just one parent in their life.

The special tenderhearted moment between mom and son before she said “I do” to her now husband is something they will cherish for the rest of their lives.

Duo Jake Shelby Perform ‘Sway’

Michael Bublé, when not acting in commercials for a drink spelled similarly to his last name, is a very talented and successful musician. Some of his most well-known songs include “Haven’t Met You Yet,” “It’s a Beautiful Day” and “Everything.” One duo chose to cover another one of his hits: “Sway.”

Jake & Shelby, a duo from Nashville, Tennessee took a stab at the Michael Bublé hit. But instead of just one video, the pair of musicians put up two videos- just a week apart from one another - where they covered “Sway.”

“Dear, but my eyes will see only you
Only you have that magic technique
When we say, I go weak”

The videos of the very same song have two dramatically different looks.

The first video for “Sway” was uploaded to YouTube on Oct. 7 of last year. This video looks more like what we’ve come to expect when we think of a music video. Both are dressed to the nines as they play and sing the Michael Bublé hit on a stage in a brightly and expertly lit room.

Unlike the first video, the second one, released on Oct. 14, 2022, does not have all the glitz and glamor. It’s a simple and straightforward clip. The duo sits outside, next to one another as Jake plays the guitar and Shelby sings the love song’s lyrics.

The musicians never change locations or even move throughout the video. The camera pans back and forth, from side to side, and moves in for a close-up once or twice. But otherwise, the video is mainly about the performers and their musical ability.

Surprisingly, though, their second video has several thousand more views. The first has been watched a little less than 130,000 times, while the other video has more than 161,000 views.

Heartfelt Reunion of Couple and Cat Missing for 3 Months

Pets, our furry and four-legged friends, all have a way of finding a place in our hearts. Essentially, they become members of the family. We hurt when they hurt. We are happy when they are happy. So, imagine the joy one couple felt after finding their pet that had been missing for months.

Rodd is Amanda and her husband Mark's four-legged and furry family member and means the world to them. Amanda said Rodd, a Siamese cat, “loves to roam” and would often go very far from home during his outings, according to The Yorkshire Post.

Rodd would always return from his expeditions, often with a gift, usually in the form of a mouse. However, in early October 2022, Rodd went on a journey and did not come back. Then, after days with no sign of Rodd, Amanda began to suspect the worst.

"I assumed this is what he had done again as of the 13th October 2022,” Amanda told The Yorkshire Post. “But by the fifth night, I was worried with it coming up to Halloween and bonfire night, he would get skittish and scared and possibly end up injured or freezing cold.”

The outlet reports that Amanda did everything possible to find Rodd – searched the area, posted missing posters and created announcements on social media.

Eventually, weeks went by without Rodd.

But on the day after Christmas, Amanda heard a very familiar meow. It was Rodd!

Video of the surprising reunion shows Amanda dropping her drink to chase after her furry family member, who comes to their house's backdoor.

In the video, Amanda crouches down, grabs Rodd and gives him a huge hug before letting him back in where he belongs – Amanda and Mark’s house.

Amanda was overwhelmed by Rodd’s return!

"I am still on cloud nine that he came back over Christmas, the best Christmas present I could of ever wished for,” she said

Genesis 1:24 “And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.”

Dolly Parton Miley Cyrus Duet of ‘Jolene’

Dolly Parton is a talented and beloved actress and musician. Her terrific career has spanned decades. Dolly has given us such hit songs as “Islands in the Stream,” “Coat of Many Colors” and “9 to 5.” Dolly is a true Hollywood legend!

On New Year’s Eve, Dolly took the stage and joined Miley Cyrus. The two sang several iconic and classic songs together, including what is arguably Dolly’s biggest and most memorable song: “Jolene.”

Earlier in the clip, the duo sings Patsy Cline’s “Walkin’ After Midnight.” After finishing up Patsy’s song, Miley tells Dolly that they really can’t leave the stage without singing “Jolene.” Dolly wholeheartedly agrees!

At the 1:50-minute mark in the clip, the crowd goes wild as the music to “Jolene” begins playing. It’s clear that many still love and appreciate the song all these years later!

The duo sings the quintessential country song while standing on a beautifully lit stage. A number of other musicians provide Dolly and Miley with assistance during the performance. Those in the band accompanying them play the guitar, and the drums, sing backup vocals and one even plays the trumpet!

Given the level of love for “Jolene,” most are aware of the catchy and toe-tapping chorus to the song about a woman begging another to stay away from her man.

“I’m begging of you please don’t take my man
Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
Please don’t take him just because you can”

It’s clear from the clip that both Miley and Dolly are having a ball singing the song!

Dolly and Miley end NBC’s New Year’s Eve bash with “Jolene.” What a perfect way to end the night and 2022.

The “9 to 5” singer proves once again that she still has it!

Christ in You, the Hope of Glory - The Mystery (Colossians 1:27)

It is a mystery that God hid from mankind for ages but has now been revealed to us: that Jesus, the creator, who died for our sins and rose from the dead, now takes up residence in the hearts of people who put their trust in Him.

‘Drops of Jupiter’ by Duo Jake and Shelby

The band Train is an extremely well-liked group that has produced such hits as “Hey, Soul Sister,” “Marry Me” and “Meet Virginia.” Despite all their success, one of Train’s hits towers above the rest.

In the last couple of decades, there probably has not been a song more recognizable, played and covered than Train’s “Drops of Jupiter.” A quick Google search shows that even Taylor Swift has covered the popular song. This time, though, music duo Jake & Shelby take their turn at “Drops of Jupiter.”

The video from the self-described “best friends” from Nashville, Tennessee, is very simple and minimalistic but effective. The clip begins with the two musicians sitting on the ground, back-to-back. Jakes strums on the guitar as Shelby sings the beautifully written lyrics.

“And tell me, did you fall for a shooting star?
One without a permanent scar, and did you miss me
While you were looking for yourself out there?”

Approximately 40 seconds into the video, the duo switches things up a bit. Shelby momentarily sits with legs across Jake’s. A few moments later, we get a shot of Jake standing by his lonesome as he plays the guitar.

For the next 20 seconds or so, the video cuts between the two musicians in these three positions – back-to-back, Shelby with her legs on top of Jake’s and Jake standing and playing his instrument by himself.

Then around the 1-minute mark, things get changed up once again. Jake, sitting in a chair, is playfully spun around by Shelby.

The video, while not as flashy, does keep the focus on their singing and musical ability. And as evidenced by their top-notch sound, both have plenty of it.

Check out Jake & Shelby’s cover of Train’s “Drops of Jupiter.”

A Child of the Troubles by Maurice Wylie Media

You may or may not be acquainted with the name, Alex Calderwood, but you will most certainly have either lived or heard of the Troubles that terrorised the neighbourhoods of Northern Ireland. From their beginning in 1969, until the Good Friday Agreement of 1998, and beyond, all Northern Irish people have a story to tell — and it’s not a pretty one. These are stories of pain and anguish, of lives lost; lives still emphasised by empty chairs in the homes of loved ones.

From the brutality that lies at the core of these pages, comes the true story of a man who overcame adversity, showed bravery and courage in the face of hardship and had the determination to go out into the world when everyone had given up on him, to make a difference for good.
