2 Samuel 11:1-5 And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem. 2 And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king's house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon. 3 And David sent and enquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite? 4 And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her; for she was purified from her uncleanness: and she returned unto her house. 5 And the woman conceived, and sent and told David, and said, I am with child.
Hello and WELCOME to Salem UMC!!! We are honored to fave a long time family member join us this week... Please help us welcome "home" Matthew Brown as he brings us the word of God...
Jacob had served Laban 14 years for his wives & had 11 sons & he was ready to go home. But it was not in God's timing, so he made a deal with Laban to stay with him in exchange for a flock of his own. Jacob trusted God to bless his flock & He made him very prosperous. After 6 years, the Lord told him it was time to leave. But instead of telling Laban, he just left because he assumed Laban would not want him to go. Laban felt blindsided & went after him. Jacob's second assumption could have been worse than his first but the Lord took care of him & they made peace. Do you trust God with your livelihood? Do you trust His timing? Are you confident enough to just be upfront & open with others, trusting God with their response? #Laban #Jacob #assumptions #witness #provider #trust #hide #timing #honesty
1Sa 14:6 And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the LORD will work for us: for there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few.

Definition of a miracle: Something only God can Do. Something God does not have to Do. Absolutely above and beyond what we can ask or believe... John 2:11 KJVS [11] This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
Peace to everyone, It’s hard to believe that less than a month ago, the shopping malls were out of parking spaces, radio stations played non-stop Christmas carols, and on-line shopping broke new sales records as advertisers offered free shipping and guaranteed delivery by Christmas.
Now that the Christmas Season is over, the Church begins “Ordinary Time”. But don’t let the word “ordinary” fool you, this week’s Gospel is far from “ordinary”.
In fact, it is a game changer for the Salvation of the World because this week, we get to travel back 2,000 years and hear John the Baptist, the greatest prophet who ever walked the face of the earth, announce, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world”.
It is a profound message that has the ability to change the life of every man, woman, and child in this world. May it strengthen your faith in this New Year of 2020.
