Preach Christ’s True Words – 1 Peter 4:1-10 – Pastor D. A. Waite – BFTBC

Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; 2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. 3 For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: 4 Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you: 5 Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead. 6 For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. 7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. 8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. 9 Use hospitality one to another without grudging. 10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

Churches have become a place of entertainment rather than worshipping God. When was the last time you said "I didn't like the service today, or the music, or the pastor?" Church is not about us, it is about God. We are worshipping Him!

In the series of making a leader, Francis Chan is asked to speak on the topic of Prayer. Prayer is such a special part of a real leader. How can you be a Spiritual leader without praying? How can you lead your family or ministry without getting on your face before God? Prayer is supernatural. Prayer brings us to heart of God.

This video explores the notion that there is no salvation outside the Church.

Many missionaries have been turned away from churches because the church does not believe that Children can accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. The Jewish culture is filled with ages and at what time they take on more responsibility. Can children really get saved from their sins like adults?

God wants us to clear our conscience. To make things right that we did that were wrong in order to benefit the other person. By admitting your wrong you could be what is stopping someone from getting close to God. Dr. Logan shares how he cleared his conscience with his dad and how it changed the relationship.

Marriage is a place of suffering at times. Husband and wife do not always live Godly lives. Are you willing to go through suffering to heal your spouse? Be careful that a root of bitterness doesn't form in your heart due to your suffering.

Many times we suffer due to sin or just the evil in the world, but God is calling us to suffer for his glory. Have you thought about turning your suffering into worship? Even if you can't leave your bed, you can pray and worship God.

Pride is a terrible sin that can be in the life of a Christian. James 4:6 God resists the pride, but gives grace to the humble. How is it that pride will destroy my life? Are you a Christian who is yielding your life to God?

If a decision you make is truly acceptable and God's will, then it will not contradict what is in the Bible. You don't have to violate God's will in order to carry out His will.

Pride is the sin that God hates the most in this world. James 4-6 says that God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble. We want humility not just so we can be humble, but because we want God and we want Him to dwell with us; we want God more than anything in this world. Are you willing to ask God to do whatever it takes to make you humble?

We are living in a Spiritual Battle everyday. Most of us are in a private war with addictions, strongholds, and behaviors. You are not alone. Use this time to stand firm against the enemy and go deeper with God.
