‘The Sound of Silence’ on Harp Brings Deer to Listen

Animals are truly magnificent creatures, seemingly able to surprise us every day with their intelligence and funny antics. Anyone who has ever had a pet understands the smarts possessed by animals and their ability to comprehend and feel.

As a video shows, one wild animal appeared to understand and possibly enjoy the performance of a classic folk song.

In the astounding video, musician Naomi SV stands in a meadow as she plucks her harp, playing Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel’s beloved “The Sound of Silence.”

Soon after the 1-minute video begins, we can see movement off in the distance on the left side of the screen. At first, it’s hard to make out what exactly we are seeing move near a line of trees. However, the creature continues to move toward the sound and the camera. We soon realize it is a deer watching her.

The musician appears to be completely oblivious to her wildlife audience member as she continues to play the song. The deer gets closer and closer, almost as if it’s drawn to and interested in the beautiful sound.

By the video’s end, the deer is mere feet away from the talented musician. Apparently, having heard enough, the deer then decides to bail on the performance and darts off into the woods.

It’s not until the deer runs off that the musician is either startled by the noise caused by the animal or catches it out of the corner of her eye that she realizes she has been watched. She abruptly stops playing as the video comes to an end.

Since the video was posted to YouTube, it has been watched more than 18 million times.

Police Crossing Guard Heroically Saves Child from Speeding Car

The word “hero” gets thrown around a lot today. Athletes, who hit a game-winning shot, are often referred to as heroes. Even politicians who simply vote on legislation are even sometimes called heroes. Almost assuredly none of them have thrown themselves in front of a speeding car for someone else, like a crossing guard in Maryland did.

Stunning video footage of the heroic act shows the officer wearing a highly visible, bright orange raincoat. She stands in the middle of the road as she directs traffic during what appears to be a wet and dreary morning.

Seconds into the video clip, a student wearing a long gray jacket approaches the crosswalk. The student momentarily stops prior to entering the roadway. The officer standing in the road can clearly be seen raising their left hand, signaling for approaching traffic to come to a stop. The student proceeds to enter the crosswalk. Moments later, the officer acts in a heroic manner to protect the life of the crossing student.

As soon as the student reaches the officer in the middle of the street, a speeding car comes into the frame. Given the vehicle’s excessive speed as it barrels toward the student and the officer, it is clear that the driver has no intention of stopping.

The quick-acting officer throws the student out of the path of the approaching vehicle. The officer is then struck by the vehicle. It is not until the car hits the officer that the vehicle comes to a stop.

The video shows the officer laying on the ground as several people race over to check on the brave officer. The clip comes to an end shortly after this takes place.

The heroic crossing guard was revealed as Cpl. Annette Goodyear. She was taken to a nearby hospital after, surprisingly only suffering minor injuries, according to WUSA 9, a Washington, D.C. television station. The station reports Goodyear was then soon released from the hospital.

Cpl. John Fakner, a fellow law enforcement officer, praised Goodyear’s actions.

"We're just extremely proud of her actions. It was a split-second reaction that saved a child from potential injury. A job well done," he told CBS Baltimore

'Make You Feel My Love' by Bob Dylan - The Voice Audition with Parijita Bastola

This performance was soulful, deep, and moving. ‘Make You Feel My Love’ by Bob Dylan was performed on The Voice audition with Parijita Bastola.

It was an incredibly moving performance you don’t want to miss. During season 22 of The Voice, Parijita set the bar high even though she performed under pressure as an “Instant Save during Live Eliminations” on the show.

Dressed in an elegant Nepalese dress, she wowed the audience and all four judges with her performance. Parijta came on the show as a 17-year-old who dreamed of becoming a professional singer. She chose to be on Team Legend, and the partnership is showcased by the passion she pours into her music.

What a perfect song to showcase her incredible talent. Parijta’s voice is like no other, and hearing her perform is like no other. Her passion and vocals leave you in awe. Unfortunately, she was eliminated from the competition, which left the audience and fans of the show stunned.

But with her kind of God-given talent, we know God has more plans in store for her. After the elimination, she took to her Instagram to share her feelings.

She wrote, “I am so proud of myself. Top 8 is what I had imagined and more! Having to sing for the instant is an unexplainable terrifying moment, but right before I started singing “make you feel my love” I saw every version of myself on the show.” What a beautiful and insightful perspective.

She added, “I remembered the people I love and met. I got to see some of them in the crowd. I felt at peace. And I truly am. the outcome may not have been what I imagined. But I am incredibly proud of my friends and I.”

Who can’t wait to see where she will perform next?

News Anchor Overcomes Phobia to Learn to Dance

As much as we’d hate to admit it, fear is powerful. It can keep us cowering in the corner and stop us from experiencing new, fun things in life. Tony Dokoupil, an anchor on CBS Mornings, recently faced a big fear of his: dancing.

Tony explained on the program that his aversion to hitting the dance floor runs deep.

“When it comes to dancing, I’ve had a childhood fear, I mean a deep fear. It’s really more like a phobia,” he said

He added that as a child, he did go to dances with his friends, but he’d never actually got on the floor when the music started. Instead, he admits became a wallflower.

Tony also stated that his dread of dancing has affected his life as an adult.

“As a grownup, as an adult, this same fear kept me sidelined at friends’ weddings and also deprived my wife Katie of a dance partner time and time again,” Tony said

Despite the fear and anxiety Tony feels about dancing, he decided to give it a try regardless.

He met up with a professional choreographer, Jessica Castro, who had him trying out some basic dance moves.

At one point, Jessica explained to Tony exactly what dancing is, in its most simple and rudimentary form.

“You know what dance is, honestly? Dance is confidence,” Jessica said.

The clip goes on and shows both Tony and Jessica going through several dance moves and drills.

It wasn’t long until Tony says that he “began to understand the basics.”

After some more practice, trial and error and helpful advice, Tony and his wife, as the video shows, went out for a night of dancing, where he did hit the dance floor.

“And once the music started to play, I realized something I probably should have when I was 17, a good night of dancing is not about the moves. It’s about the feeling,” Tony said

Study That JFK Participated in Reveals Friendship is Secret to Happiness

Everyone wants to be happy in life. Most people, in their quest to achieve a state of happiness, seek fame and fortune or believe that their external appearance has something to do with being truly happy. However, one long-term study that included the participation of a former president reveals the key to happiness in life.

A Harvard study on happiness that has taken place over more than 80 years reveals that “meaningful human relationships” – friendship - are the key to achieving happiness on earth. Across the study’s more than 8 decades, thousands of people have participated including the 35th President of the United States, John Fitzgerald Kennedy.

Dr. Robert Waldinger, a psychiatrist and one of the people who worked on the study, helped to define what the study means by “meaningful human relationship.”

“We think all relationships have some benefit,” Waldinger said.  “But the 3 o’clock in the morning relationship, the person you could call if you were really hurting or in trouble, we think everybody needs one of those, at least one.”

As the clip from “CBS Sunday Morning” points out, being unhappy or feeling unfulfilled in life is not just an issue in the United States of America.

“Over 300 million adults in the world today live in total loneliness,” John Clifton, CEO of Gallup said

Clifton went on to add that the people in the world today are “experiencing more stress, more sadness, more anger, more physical pain and more worry than we have in the history of Gallup’s tracking.”

As the two experts point out, the need for people to feel connected, to feel cared for and loved is great in our world today. These disturbing findings come despite living in the age of social media, email, text messaging and other forms of instant communication.

John 15:15 “From now on I call you not servants; for the servant knows not what his lord does: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known to you.”

Voice Contestant Has Judges on Edge of Seat with “Shallow’ Audition

Our actions - good and bad - can and do have an impact on those around us. As such, what we say can have a profound influence on the lives of others, even if we never ever realize it. One contestant on The Voice UK decided to audition for the show after words of encouragement and support from complete strangers.

A nervous Niamh Nolan, a 25-year-old woman from Ireland, stepped up on the stage during the blind auditions portion of the program. Despite her nerves, Niamh gave a show-stopping performance of Shallow, the popular song from the film “A Star is Born.”

Niamh’s beautiful and powerful rendition of the Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper song caused two judges – Tom Jones and Will. i. am – to turn their chairs and take notice. They were both thoroughly impressed with Niamh’s stunning vocal capabilities.

“Well, I thought it sounded great. You can sing. It’s as simple as that, you know what I mean? When you hear somebody sing like you just did, I have to press my button because that’s how good I think you are,” Tom said.

“You sounded angelic. I turned around because my seat not turning to you would be disrespectful to the level of talent that you have,” Will. i. am said

Following her performance and during her interaction with the judges, Niamh revealed that it was total strangers who were responsible for her being on the stage. The positive feedback she received from videos she uploaded of her singing gave her the confidence that she had been lacking.

“I started uploading videos on social media, maybe like a year and a half ago, singing and people kind of liked what they heard. And I grew a bit of a following and stuff so,” she said.

Words are very, very powerful. They can build someone up and on the other hand, they can tear people down.

Ephesians 4:29 “Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for edifying as the need may be, that it may give grace to them that hear.”

Biofiltration process:
A biofilter is a bed of media on which microorganisms attach and grow to form a biological layer called biofilm. Biofiltration is thus usually referred to as a fixed–film process. Generally, the biofilm is formed by a community of different microorganisms (bacteria, fungi, yeast, etc.), macro-organisms (protozoa, worms, insect's larvae, etc.) and extracellular polymeric substances (EPS). The aspect of the biofilm is usually slimy and muddy.

Property Brothers Find Abandoned Pup A Furever Home

It has been said that it’s not where you start but where you finish that really matters. One puppy may not have had the best start in life but thanks to the kindness of two famous people, the canine ended up in a loving environment.

Luca, while only a couple of days old, was left abandoned, along with four other puppies, in a box near the gate of an animal rescue in Texas. As seen on an episode of Property Brothers: Forever Home, Drew and Jonathan Scott introduced Luca to her new, loving family.

Drew and Johnathan remember feeling some strong emotions as they helped introduce Luca to her new family – Val, David and their two children - and seeing how the family reacted to the dog.

“I will admit I had a bit of a tear welling up in my eye, seeing the family react and also hearing David’s story about how they found Luca in a box, her and her siblings,” Drew said.

The two Scott brothers also mentioned the best way to get the next furry and four-legged member of your family.

“Yeah, rescuing or adopting a dog is definitely the way to go,” Johnathan said

“There are so many amazing dogs out there that need a home. So for us to be able to have this as a part of our show and to bring a beautiful puppy to this family, it means a lot,” Johnathan added

While most people love those cute, furry and four-legged creatures, the Scott brothers will admit that man’s best friend can be tough on a house’s floors. They also shared some advice on how to protect your home from canine wear and tear.

“If you have pups in a house, and we have renovated many homes for pups, you need durable materials,” Drew said.

“I know for me, I have two dogs and Gracie and Stewie, love them to death, but sometimes dogs can scuff things up. So, you want to make sure all of the fabrics are very durable, everything’s going to be easy to clean,” Johnathan mentioned.

Young Boy With Cerebral Palsy’s Inspiring Walk to Mickey Mouse

At nine months old, Conner was diagnosed with Spastic Cerebral Palsy, a condition that greatly impacts his ability to walk. However, he doesn’t let his condition stop him as he takes an inspiring walk to Mickey Mouse on a Disney Cruise.

In the video, Conner uses his mobility aid and determination to walk across the deck of a Disney Cruise ship to meet one of his favorite Disney characters, Mickey Mouse. The mascot and Conner’s family cheer him on, and the emotional moment ends with Conner being met with a  big hug from Mickey Mouse.

Conner was born on his parents’ wedding anniversary 15 weeks premature. He spent most of his first year of life in intensive care units in his home state of Michigan. He was diagnosed with necrotizing enterocolitis shortly after birth, a condition that caused him to lose over half of his small intestine.

With the support of his family and a team of doctors dedicated to helping him, Conner was able to stop using his painful feeding tube and start eating solid food around his third birthday.

Now in the second grade, sweet Conner is full of life and is an inspiration to others struggling with cerebral palsy. Aside from his viral walk to Mickey, he has walked on the runway at New York Fashion Week and even been in his school’s musical.

Conner continues to go to speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy every week in order to improve his mobility. Conner’s team of doctors and therapists are amazed at how far he has improved at his young age and admire his willpower.

“I have the easy part. I just do the surgery. These kids really do the hard part. They keep up such a great attitude through the extensive rehabilitation,” said Dr. Marupudi, a pediatric neurosurgeon that has been working with Conner and his parents.

Although Conner has been facing challenge after challenge his whole life, he continues to work hard and inspire others with his strength and courage.

“But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26.

Man Proposed Epicly, And Internet Haters Troll Him Saying 'She's Out of His League

There’s a proposal that’s taken over the internet, and you’ll be stunned to find out the reason! A man by the name of Chris Girard proposed epically, and now internet haters troll him saying, ‘She’s out of his league.’

Why would people say that you might ask? Well, his fiancee happens to be a bombshell blonde beauty, and she’s also an NBA cheerleader. But there’s more to Jackie Murtha than what meets the eye.

She is kind, caring, sweet, and compassionate and she only has eyes for Chris who the world has deemed to be ‘out of his league,’ because he doesn’t seem to fit the stereotype that gorgeous women would date. Shortly after the proposal went viral, haters spewed terrible messages like: “How did he get her? Is Make-A-Wish doing adults now?”

Chris isn’t letting the comments ruin his epic marriage proposal. Instead, he is telling the world a little about their story. The love birds met in college eight years ago, and they’ve been stuck like glue ever since. Chris knew she was special the moment he laid eyes on her.

He even joked by comparing himself to Pete Davidson, who dates women who are definitely out of his league. Jackie on the other hand, begs to differ. She never understood why Chris would joke that way because in her eyes–he is the love of her life. “I really genuinely don’t see it because he is just so handsome, and he is just the perfect guy,” Jackie said

The trolls can tease all they want because whom God has brought together, no one can tear apart. All jokes aside, we wish this beautiful couple, a happy and joyous wedding.

“Scarcely had I passed them, when I found him whom my soul loves,” Song of Solomon 3:4.

KING OF KING

A WORD OF THE LORD.....

‘Unchained Medley’ by 6-Year-Old Singer Evan Riley

Performing for public consumption– speaking, acting, dancing or singing – is a big fear for most people. But for one child this does not appear to be something that gives her anxiety. You must hear this little girl’s voice to believe it and even then, you may still question it.

Evan Riley, a 6-year-old girl, in a clip posted to YouTube, steps up to the microphone and beautifully sings a beloved, classic song. Evan sings out the lyrics to “Unchained Melody,” a song made famous by The Righteous Brothers.

The song’s sound and Evan’s voice give her version of the timeless tune a very country feel.

At approximately the 1:06-minute mark of the nearly 4-minute clip, Evan shows off her impressive range. She hits and then holds a high note that will leave you shaking your head in disbelief. How is a voice like that coming out of a child?

But that’s not even the most impressive section of the clip. As the song is winding down and Evan is just about done, she turns things up a notch, showing off her vocal skill set.

Around 3 minutes in, Evan once again shows off her range, going to a vocal register and then holding it for even longer than the previous section.

However, that’s not the only song little Evan can sing, not in the slightest. The same YouTube account has also posted a video of Evan singing a song originally done by the great Patsy Cline, “Crazy.”

A third video from that same account shows young Evan trying her hand at a more modern hit, “Shallow.” As she reaches the song’s memorable chorus, Evan lets loose and the crowd goes wild, cheering and applauding.

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Act of Kindness Captured on Car’s Backup Camera in Traffic

The world can be a dark, dangerous and cruel place. People do not always treat each other with warmth and respect. Anyone on any form of social media can attest to the fact that any subject, absolutely anything, can result in a hurtful or harmful comment. But there are times when a simple, unexpected act of kindness can change a pessimistic outlook into a more hopeful one.

One of those acts that will have you feeling a little better about the state of humanity was caught on a vehicle’s backup camera of all places.

A user on Reddit posted the heartwarming moment. The short, 23-second video shows two people sitting in a vehicle in the foreground with a big, multi-passenger van in a spot right behind it.

Seconds into the video, the passenger door of the van opens, and a man pops out. He starts walking up to the passenger side door but before he reaches his destination, he reaches up to the roof of the car and grabs something off the car. He then proceeds to hand it to the female passenger.

What may be even more impressive, the kind man doesn’t even wait for a monetary reward or even a handshake. After doing his good deed, he casually walks back to his vehicle.

The person who posted the video on the site later added a comment stating, “This happened earlier today. The driver of the van was waving and honking for a mile or so – I thought it was a case of road rage until the kind passenger got out and handed them the phone.”

For some reason, driving is one of those everyday activities that can often lead to bad behavior from our fellow motorists. However, as the video shows, it’s also a place where acts of unexpected acts of kindness can take place.

Colossians 3:12 “Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, longsuffering;

A Man Poured Sand on a Table and Made Mesmerizing Art with Sound

Beauty can come from unexpected places. Even in times of extreme brokenness and despair, signs of hope, belief and promise can be found. In Genesis, Joseph makes a statement to his brothers, imparting a similar idea, saying,” As for you, it was in your mind to do me evil, but God has given a happy outcome, the salvation of numbers of people, as you see today.”

A video posted to Facebook shows an artist, Kenichi Kanazwaw, make what appears to be a mess initially only to create stunning visual displays and even somewhat pleasant sounds.

The nearly 3-and-a-half-minute clip begins with the man, frankly, creating a mess on a small black table. This move will likely have you questioning the artist and wondering what exactly he intends to do.

He then begins rubbing a device on the table, causing the particles to jump around and move due to the vibrations he creates throughout the surface. But then you see what he has made and it’s rather astonishing.

He then goes on to use a second device and creates another magnificent and outrageous display that will have you questioning your eyes.

Not satisfied with his previous creations, the man in the video creates several other unbelievable visual depictions of beauty where it didn’t exist just seconds before.

The video has been watched more than 7 million times on Facebook.

The impressive work from the artist in the clip is a good reminder that beauty can come from places we least expect it, even from what looks at first to be chaos and disaster.

Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
